Football celebrations. By far the most entertaining part in all of football, no doubt about it. It brings a little excitement to the game, considering theres whistles every ten seconds, which makes it quite boring. Some people debate that its "showboating" but I totally disagree with that, for a couple reasons. First of all, football is a very tough, and violent sport to play, trust me I watch "Hits of the Week" on sportnet connected every week, and theres some punishing hits on there that mostly come from football. So anyways, if your going to travel a hundred yards down the field, getting torchered by the other players trying to stop him from scoring a touchdown. I think that if you can make it through that torcher and past all those players, and score a touchdown they should be able to celebrate, but apparently other people disagree.
When someone scores a touchdown, and celebrates, it makes almost everyone smile, and gives them a good time. Everyone except the other team of course, which makes it more of a rival since when someone scores a touchdown ande celebrates, it makes the other team mad and want to score their own touchdown, all in all, it makes the game more intense if you think about it.
Every game, you never know whos going to celebrate with something sweet, or what kind of celebration they are going to do. Usually its somebody sweet who celebrates, like Terell Owens, or Chad Johnson. Those two players are my favourite players in the NFL, mainly because of what they do when they score a touchdown. My favourite touchdown celebration is 'The Dougie" which is also a song, but it is a dance. Only a couple of people do it in the NFL, but its the best when they do. Some famous celebrations are, when Terell Owens grabbed a fans popcorn and dumped the whole thing in his helmet, it was quite funny. Another good one is the lambo leap, when they score a touchdown, and the guy just keeps running and leaps into the croud, its a great one. Also the fans love it, to be that close to a player and maybe even touch them. The Geroy Simon celebration in the CFL is the best celebration in the CFL, thats forsure.
Its funny when you think about it. Do they plan the celebration before the game? Or does it just come to them? You got to know that sometimes they plan it, like the celebration when Terell Owens pulls out a sharpie from his shoe, and signs the ball and throws it into the crowd. Lucky fan who cought that one. So for that celebration, he definately planned it! Then theres the celebrations that just come to them, like a pose, or a little dance, like the dougie. Its wierd to think about the guys sitting around planning on what to do when they score a touchdown. Its kind of funny and cocky, but thats what I like about NFL football, it makes it more entertaining, and thats why I love NFL celebrations!
